City & Guilds
Jack Greenhough — The Electrician Behind the Name
Hi, I am Jack Greenhough. I am the owner and lead electrician at Greenhough Electrical Services. I set up this business because I was tired of seeing corners cut, cheap materials used, and customers left in the dark — literally and figuratively.
I hold a City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification and an ECS Gold Card, which means I have proven competence across domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical work. I am also Part P registered with a recognised competent person scheme, so all notifiable work is self-certified and fully compliant with Building Regulations.
Every job I take on — whether it is replacing a single socket or rewiring an entire house — gets the same standard of care. I use only premium branded materials: Hager consumer units with full RCBO protection, Prysmian cable, and MK-branded accessories as standard. No unbranded imports. No shortcuts. I treat every customer's home like my own because, frankly, I would not accept anything less.
Based in Hilton, just outside Burton Upon Trent, I serve a 30-mile radius covering all of East Staffordshire, South Derbyshire, and North West Leicestershire. I am proud to have built a reputation on word-of-mouth recommendations — most of my work comes from customers who have used us before or who were referred by their neighbours, family, or friends.

How Greenhough Electrical Services Was Built
Greenhough Electrical Services started with a simple belief: electrical work should be honest, transparent, and done to the highest standard — every single time. After years working in the electrical trade, Jack saw too many customers being let down. Cheap materials disguised as cost savings. Work that passed a visual check but failed a proper inspection. Quotes that ballooned after the job started.
He set out to build an electrical contracting business where that would never happen. A business where you know exactly what you are paying and exactly what you are getting. A business where every cable run is clipped neatly, every termination is torqued correctly, and every consumer unit is labelled clearly. A business that treats your home with the same respect Jack treats his own.
Starting from a home base in Hilton, the business grew entirely through word-of-mouth recommendations. One satisfied customer told their neighbour. That neighbour told their colleague. A local landlord asked about EICRs and told five other landlords. Today, Greenhough Electrical Services covers a 30-mile radius across East Staffordshire, South Derbyshire, and North West Leicestershire — and the vast majority of new enquiries still come from personal recommendations.
That is something we are genuinely proud of. It means our work speaks for itself, and it means our customers trust us enough to put their own reputation on the line by recommending us to people they know. You cannot buy that kind of trust — you can only earn it, one job at a time.
Premium Materials, Honest Pricing, Real Guarantees
Premium Branded Materials Only
We use Hager consumer units with RCBO protection, Prysmian British Standard cable, MK and Click accessories, and BG weatherproof outdoor fittings. No unbranded imports. No corners cut on what goes inside your walls.
Fixed Pricing, No Surprises
Every quotation is a fixed price. If we quote you £450 for a consumer unit upgrade, that is what you pay — even if the job takes longer than expected or needs extra materials. No hidden extras.
Full Certification on Every Job
Every job comes with the appropriate certificate — Minor Works, Electrical Installation Certificate, or EICR report — issued promptly and stored digitally for your records. No chasing for paperwork.
Genuine Workmanship Guarantee
All our installation work is guaranteed. If something is not right — and it rarely is — we come back and fix it, no questions asked. Your satisfaction is not a marketing slogan; it is the reason our business exists.
